Policy
Smart investments...incremental change…healthy children who start school ready to learn. That’s what our policy work is about. We envision children who are at risk of failing in school on the path toward success.
In the end, our ultimate policy goal is for Nebraska to have a coordinated early childhood system of care and education that addresses the needs of vulnerable children before they enter the formalized school system. This includes integration of work and collaboration across two agencies who share primary responsibility for early childhood programs and services.
In these days of limited state resources, we agree the state needs to make wise investments of public dollars. The first five years is such an investment.
