Purpose

Nebraska Children and Families Foundation advances public policy so young children in need have access to high-quality experiences in their first five years. These early experiences are proven to help them be successful in school and yield the greatest return in life.

Our policy work is both legislative and administrative. We work with policymakers on laws that reflect what children need in the first five years and with our state partners to enhance rules and regulations in the best interest of children.

We help decision makers understand early childhood issues and the benefits of investing in the first five years. The returns are numerous: school achievement, economic productivity, responsible citizenship and successful parenting.

Becky Veak and Jen Hernandez represent early childhood legislative policy at Nebraska Children and Families Foundation.
